Miami's Urban Life, 2007
35 Works

The works in "Miami's Urban Life" depict the unique scenes and diverse characters of street life in different neighborhoods throughout Miami, Florida. "Miami's Urban Life" is the first official portfolio release by Eric Torriente.

In this series of 35 works, the Artist introduces us to portraits and impressions of gypsies and loiterers as they wander the streets of Miami's low-income neighborhood districts. The Artist then takes us to Downtown Miami's energized business district, where busy Brickell Avenue businessmen and women rapidly walk, with focused and consumed minds, seldom exchanging glances. A short stroll from Downtown to Little Havana, we are taken to Domino Park, a special place where old Cuban men spend their days sitting at tables playing dominoes, smoking cigars and sharing nostalgic stories of the country they lost and still long for. Back at the beach, the Lincoln Road bus stops are filled with ecclectic locals mixed with curious tourists, sharing stories that fade as each bus proceeds to its next destination.

The Artist captures the diversity, as well as the hearts and souls of people walking through bustling Miami, a unique and prosperous city full of humanity and endless possibilities.
